On Saturday, May 9th, over 100 people from across the community joined their neighbors for the 6th annual East Cambridge and Wellington-Harrington (We-Ha) Clean Up Day. East End House would like to thank all the volunteers and everyone who made the event possible!
As part of a series of family events, the School Age Program hosted its 5th annual Family Night on April 8th. Families enjoyed a nutritious dinner together, complete with “Jaguar Juice” that our Red Jaguar group invented as a part of an interactive Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) unit, experimenting with juice recipes. Student’s learned a variety of lab skills and good habits such as ratios and the importance of precise measurement. The Families then competed in an engineering design challenge similar to ones that many of our students complete as a part of hands-on STEM units.
East End House's Middle School Program participated in a two-month elective entitled Kinetic STEAMulation: Sculptures in Motion. Our middle school youth were introduced to the concept of kinetic sculptures or sculpture in motion as part of an ongoing focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).
