Volunteer with East End House via Boston Cares

Join Boston Cares to support East End House and other organizations in Greater Boston. Their online platform is easy to use and allows individuals to search and sign-up for various opportunities offered weekly, including programs offered by East End House.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Administration

  • Relieve receptionist
  • Answer phones
  • Data entry
  • Assist with mass mailings

Community Food Program

  • Help organize and stock groceries
  • Assist with Greater Boston Food Bank deliveries
  • Hand out groceries in the Community Food Pantry
  • Delivery groceries to seniors and chronically ill individuals

Special Projects & Seasonal Programs

  • Participate in Community Clean-Up days
  • Assist at special events including the Holiday Toy Drive, Community Ice Skating Party, Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway, Block Party, and more
  • Support seasonal projects

Senior Activities & Outreach Program

  • Support weekly activities, events, and trips
  • Run a workshop in an area of expertise; ie. dance, yoga, etc.
  • Teach or assist older adult computer classes

    Early Education Program

    • Facilitate social, emotional, and cognitive development
    • Assist and participate in classroom activities
    • Help prepare lunch and snacks

    School Age Program

    • Run special workshops such as dance, crafts, computers, etc.
    • Assist the group leaders with activities
    • Help with homework

    Middle School Program (high school age volunteers only)

    • Assist the group leaders with activities
    • Help with homework
    • Serve as a positive role model for middle school youth

    Community Food Program

    Our Community Food Program offers volunteer opportunities assisting the Community Food Pantry or delivering groceries to homebound individuals in our neighborhood.

    Early Education Program

    Our Early Education Program is looking for support in our classrooms throughout the week caring for children ages 15 months to four years old.

    School Age Program

    Our School Age Program is looking for volunteers to assist staff with program activities, facilitate games in the gym, and help children with their homework.

    Middle School Program

    The Middle School Program is specifically looking for highschool-age volunteers to act as role models, support staff with activities, and help the middle schoolers with their homework.

    Senior Activities and Outreach Program

    The Senior Activities and Outreach Program is looking for volunteers to help run senior activities such as bingo, tech classes, and off-site trips.

    At East End House, our volunteer philosophy is focused on community support and meaningful connections. Our volunteers have a direct, tangible impact on the communities we serve and we strive to ensure they have an enjoyable and well organized experience. We also aim to grow our volunteer program and consistently provide new ways for people to volunteer with our organization.
